Sophie is a Clinical Negligence Solicitor with over nine years of legal experience in the clinical negligence field. She specialises in complex claims that exceed £100,000.
In her role, Sophie handles a wide range of cases including cancer misdiagnosis, orthopaedic injuries, obstetrics/gynaecology errors, surgical mistakes, and avoidable deaths. Sophie also assists a Partner with a wrongful birth claim and is responsible for supervising and developing junior team members, offering guidance and support throughout their development.
Sophie is deeply committed to her clients, offering compassionate support during difficult times and working tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes. Amongst her many achievements, her career highlights include securing a £885,000 settlement for a client with a terminal cancer diagnosis, enabling them to pass peacefully knowing their family was financially secure and could remain in their family home after their passing. She also obtained full liability admissions in a wrongful birth claim, sparing her client the ordeal of a liability trial.
Starting her career in 2015, Sophie gained broad legal experience in the clinical negligence field before joining us in 2019. In this time, she has completed her Law degree, passed the Solicitor Qualifying Exams first time, and qualified as a Solicitor in November 2024. She has specialised in clinical negligence since starting her career.

Notable Settled cases
TD -v- Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
Sophie settled this claim for £885,000. This claim related to a delay in diagnosing the client’s breast cancer. The client was denied the opportunity of receiving curative treatment of her breast cancer, which, by the time of diagnosis, was advanced and terminal. The client had to stop working in a job which she loved and suffered an avoidable terminal diagnosis, a significantly reduced life expectancy and her avoidable death at just 50 years old.
PO -v- Dr Sarfraz
Sophie settled this claim for £385,000. The claim related to a 4 year delay in diagnosing the client’s prostate cancer. The client was denied the opportunity of receiving curative treatment of his prostate cancer, which, by the time of diagnosis, was advanced and terminal. As a result of the negligence, the client underwent avoidable chemotherapy and hormone therapy. The client suffered an avoidable terminal diagnosis, a significantly reduced life expectancy and his avoidable death. Eventually, he had to stop working in a job which he loved.
SR -v- Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Sophie settled this claim for £275,000. This claim related to a negligently performed knee replacement surgery which resulted in my client requiring a revision knee replacement and suffer ongoing pain, suffering, loss of amenity, reduced function and reduced mobility. The client had to take early retirement from her role as a medical secretary within the NHS as a result of the negligence. It is likely that the client will require a further revision knee replacement in the future as a result of the defendant’s negligence.
AC -v- St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
Sophie settled this claim for £120,000. This claim related to a delay in diagnosing and treating the client’s meniscus tear, which he sustained whilst playing football. By the time the client’s meniscus tear was diagnosed and operated on, the meniscus was no longer repairable, and the only option was to undergo a meniscectomy. The client is likely to have to undergo meniscal allograft surgery in the future as a result of the negligence. He was 16 at the time of the injury / negligence and was an avid football player and an aspiring police officer. As a result of the negligence, the client was no longer able to play football and was unable to join the police force. He therefore suffered a loss of earnings and loss of police pension.
BS -v- University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
Sophie settled this claim for £140,000. The claim related to a perforation of the client’s bowel and the failure to identify and repair the perforation at the time of the laparotomy, as well as the negligent removal of a section of my client’s colon. As a result of the negligence, they underwent 6 further, avoidable surgical procedures, an avoidable permanent stoma, an avoidable colectomy and formation of an end ileostomy, an avoidable failed abdominal wall, an avoidable open rectal stump, the avoidable need for VAC therapy, avoidable scarring, an avoidable extended hospital admission (including admission to ITU) and the avoidable need for rehabilitation.
