Martyn Elliott

Martyn is an Associate and Senior Solicitor within the Serious Injury Clinical Negligence team, focusing on complex medical negligence cases. With more than two decades of experience acting for injured individuals, he has built a career centred on guiding clients through challenging claims.

Martyn is committed to resolving cases as efficiently and constructively as possible, working collaboratively with defendants and making effective use of alternative dispute resolution where appropriate. When litigation is required, he is a confident and experienced advocate, with a strong track record of successfully progressing claims through the courts.

Having previously held senior leadership roles, including Partner and Team Leader at a regional injury firm, Martyn has worked exclusively in clinical negligence since 2013. At Patient Claim Line, he manages a caseload primarily involving serious and catastrophic injuries, typically valued between £100,000 and £3 million. His experience spans fatal dependency claims, as well as cancer, stroke and brain injury, amputation, and vascular injuries, colorectal, obstetrics, ophthalmology, hepato-biliary, orthopaedics and surgical negligence, neurological, cauda equina and spinal injuries.

Notable Cases

• Re MM, deceased (£350,000) – preventable stroke, leading to severely disabling brain injury and incapacity and sadly death of a young mother. Settled at £350,000.
• MB (£187,500) – post-operative complications of biliary surgery resulting in peritonitis and sepsis and prolonged hospital admission of 8 months. Slightly premature end to career and dependence. Settled after direct negotiations with opponent for £187,500.
• Re MA, deceased (£80,000) – disputed, litigated, fatal case involving failure to manage Chron’s disease. Settled for £80,000.
